Getting Savvy About Computer Security

Becoming computer savvy about security does not mean hanging out at MIT. All it takes is assessing a computer’s needs and matching those with a good solution. What can be surprising is that making a computer secure might not even cost anything more than time.

Knowing the operating system of the computer is the very first step. Windows, for instance, is in a transition. Many people are still using Windows 7, others are using 360, and shortly, there will be the new Microsoft platform. Apple’s Macintosh has its own operating system and there are multiple variations of Linux being produced in the open source world. All these operating systems also come in a 32 bit or a 64-bit version, and it is essential to make this note this as well. Otherwise, it is impossible to know which version of a security suite is needed.

Data security is getting global tractionAntivirus software is often bundled with a firewall and other programs to provide an all in one solution for the end user. This is software dedicated to the duty of monitoring a computer against the possibility of a virus being installed. Viruses have a few different forms, but they gained their name because they are designed to copy themselves and be passed along to another computer. Once inside a computer system, a virus may potentially steal or destroy data, make a laptop inoperable, or undermine system performance.

Most computers today are bundled with an antivirus suite, and the user needs only to activate it. This packaged solution is most often given on a trial basis requiring a fee when the trial period expires. However, home users should know that many antivirus providers offer free versions for non-commercial use. AVG, Avast, and Avira all make free solutions for Windows. iAntiVirus is a company dedicated to the needs of Mac users, and it too provides a free non-commercial version. Avast also offers packages Linux users, but make sure to check with the Linux distributor for which package is needed before install.

Computer virus technology has not remained stagnant. In their evolution, new terms have been coined to describe their activity. By necessity, software to meet this challenge has been created to deal with this evolution.

In essence, this category describes software that hijacks a browser and makes it impossible to use the internet the way the user wishes. Clicking on a link may result in landing on a web page that has nothing to do with user intent.

What Exactly Is the Right Diet for You?

A lot of people are turning their heads to different diet options, for weight loss and weight gain, ranging from keto diet to army diets. But while these alternative diet options are great to experiment, it’s important to understand that before picking up any diet routine, you need to look after the different aspects of all these diets.

First of all, you need to take a look at the calories that you are consuming while following a particular diet regime. It so happens, that a lot of people lose out on essential calorie intake required by the body, blinded by the weight loss program.

Diet that suits you bestAnother thing that is often experienced by people is that they are not able to follow a particular diet routine religiously. It is essential to follow a diet plan strictly if you are planning on curating one. For this purpose, you can always mix and match various diet plans and frame one that suits you perfectly. Here are the three types of diet plans that can be followed, to follow a proper weight loss regime.

  1. Low carb diet:

A low carb diet often includes the ketogenic diet regime, that is in rage these days. A keto diet plan is where the consumption of carbs is reduced to 10 grams to 30 grams in a day, just by consuming green leafy vegetables.

Keto diet has become a fad these days. Thus, people end up consuming more of proteins, to substitute it with carbohydrates. The thing is, protein is consumed in the higher amount the body starts producing carbohydrates through the process gluconeogenesis.

The second thing is that if you are going to follow a keto diet, the recommendation from a dietician should be taken and not from a nutritionist.

Another thing to be noted is that during many private events, the low carb diet is one of the most preference dietary choices of the people. People avoid feeling bloated and heavy after a meal in an event and hence, they stick to low carb meals. Hiring a private chef for private events can help you cater to the dietary preferences of the people to present the low carb meals.

You can take the assistance of professional private chef services available in your city to cater to private or public events with special dietary preferences.

  • In a ketogenic diet, the consumption of carbohydrates is reduced. The level of carbs in the body retain the water levels in the body. Thus, the water retention process takes a toll, and you end up losing weight.
  • When you follow a ketogenic diet, the carbohydrates that are consumed are from leafy vegetables. So, the food products that are high in carbs and less in nutrition are deducted from your intake process.
  • A lot of people have experienced that after following a ketogenic diet routine for weeks, the productivity levels of a particular person hikes up.

  • Athletes are recommended to stay away from the keto diet. It so happens that when the level of consumption of carbohydrates reduces, the glycogen levels in the body go down. Thus, athletic performance is affected negatively.
  • When you shift to nuts instead of eating bread and cakes, while following a ketogenic diet, people often end up overeating these nuts.
  1. Time restricted eating:

In this diet, people end up choosing a specific time of the date to consume their platter of food. The entire day, they will consume water or beverages that are sugarless. If you are someone who can not follow a particular diet, this one is the best for you.

  • In this diet, the consumption of any kind of food supplement is not restricted. You can consume whatever you want to, until and unless you are fasting.
  • You can keep a fast time according to your convenience. You can choose an 18 hour, 6 hours or a 12-hour plan.
  • All those people who have got a habit of munching food all the time, the time-restricted diet can prove to be helpful.

  • A lot of people, tend to get into the diet fad of portion control, but they are not able to handle the portion control diet. So, for them, time-restricted eating shall be a problem.
  • All those people who are involved in sports or are involved in the gym and other activities, the diet can take a serious toll on them.
  • If you have an office job, that keeps you on your toes, skipping the first day of the meal won’t be a good option. It’s better to follow other diet routines, other than following the time-restricted diet.
  1. Elimination diet:

Mainstays of a Paleo DietThe elimination diet is a kind of a diet regime where you need to restrict the intake of certain kind of food items or a group of food items. For example, the paleo diet and vegan diet are followed under the group of elimination diet plan. Before following the elimination diet plan, make sure that you consult the doctor regarding your vitamin and mineral supplement in the body.

  • When a particular person tries to eliminate a food group, you will be able to judge the response of that food item on your body. This way, you can analyze your food intolerance as well.
  • When you exclude a particular group of food from your diet, you end eliminating those food items that are heavy in calories. So you will be able to see some drastic changes in weight.

  • The con of this diet is that when you stop consuming certain food items, you end up thinking negatively about the calories processed in that particular food category. So, you start thinking that certain food groups are negative in terms of food intake. Although, if one specific food item is consumed in an appropriate quantity, there will be a negative impact on your weight.
  • It’s often observed, that people who follow this diet are not able to take in the proper amount of nutrients and are partially calorie deficit. Consider vegans; they exclude the consumption of animal products. Thus, they end up having a protein deficiency.
  • Most of the people are not able to handle the diet plan and exclude certain food items from their diet plan. However, they are not able to stick properly to the diet and end up failing the diet regime miserably.

In a nutshell, all these diet plans will help you get the body of your choice and will impact majorly on your weight. It is crucial to consult a dietician before following a particular diet plan. Evaluate and analyze the pros and cons of the diet plans effectively and then go ahead with the best option for you.

Important Vitamins and Tips to Improve Your Sleep

With ever changing hectic life and daily schedules, it is tough to secure a good night sleep for many young millennials. But it’s not the hectic schedule alone that is to be blamed for the disturbed sleep cycle. In many cases, the deficiency of vitamins and minerals are equally responsible for the sleep deprivation. In fact, due to lack of sleep, it is often not easy to get out of the cozy bed in the morning and carry on with your work. The result is feeling lethargic at work the whole day. Therefore, change in lifestyle and intake of important vitamins are very essential for an effective sleep cycle.

Enjoying a Peaceful SleepHere are some of the tips for improved lifestyle and injection of some of the top vitamins and minerals in your daily routine.

Vitamins needed for a peaceful sleep:

Magnesium is very important in the body to cure insomnia. If the levels of magnesium are not appropriate in the body, the sleep pattern will get disturbed now and then, and there will be a lot of stress and anxiety. It so happens, that magnesium in the body helps in inducing GABA in the body, that is a neurotransmitter, which helps in inducing sleep. This, in turn, relaxes the muscles and eases down the stress in the body. If your diet is not giving you an appropriate amount of magnesium, it is good to take some magnesium supplements for a peaceful sleep at night.

Vitamin B:

Vitamin B is responsible for the production of melatonin in the body. If the levels of Vitamin B are appropriate in the body, you will be able to get a good night sleep, and it will control your rapid eye movement as well. The rapid eye movement gives rise to the condition of waking up in the night, now and then. Further, the presence of vitamin B6 in the body cures insomnia and relaxes the muscles of the body as well. Take some vitamin B supplements or through the natural source to cure the deficiency completely.

Taking supplements and exerciseCalcium:

Calcium is a relaxant and is completely natural in nature. The main advantage of calcium is that it keeps your bones healthy.  However, it calms down your brain muscles as well and gives you a good sleep. It eases down the nervous system because of the production of melatonin. When you drink a lot of caffeine or soft drinks, the calcium function in your body goes for a toss. It does not allow the calcium to work properly on your body. Thus, there is a need to reduce the cups of caffeine and soft drinks in your life. You need to drink a lot of milk and eat other dairy products so that the calcium deficiency can be cured.

Tips to improvise your regular lifestyle:

Exposure to natural light:

  • Absorbing the appropriate amount of natural light is important. So, hit the bright sunny day as it will alarm you regarding your time to go to sleep. If you are someone, who is struck with a major issue of sleep, this one trick will work out for you well.
  • If you are on the phone before going to bed, it won’t let you sleep and will alarm your body that, it is daylight. The blue color on the screen stops the body from producing Melatonin. Thus, it is important to go to bed and keep the screen away from you 2 hours before bedtime.

  • Exercise will help your body to get tired and get a good night sleep. It will channelize your energy levels in the morning hour and will reduce it by the end of the day.
  • Adding in exercises into your routine will boost up your metabolism and will hike up the manufacture of cortisol in your body. It is important to exercise during the day time or in the evenings.  This way, you won’t feel energized near bedtime.
  • If you are working on a hardcore exercise routine, you will be able to sleep in a better way. However, exercising for 15 minutes will help in the improvement of sleep as well.

Curate a pattern:

  • If you create a pattern of going to bed and sleeping, your body will understand the routine, and your sleep will get accustomed to that routine.
  • Following a set pattern of sleeping will be really difficult for you initially, but by working on to it, you can improve it and the quality of your sleep will improve as well.

Chill routine during the dusk:

  • Formulate a pre-sleep routine. This will help you out in going to bed in a calmer way. Just read a book, watch a movie, meditate or do yoga before going to bed. These techniques of relaxing will help you out in curing insomnia and improving the quality of sleep.
  • Do not do the same activity before going to bed every day. Have different sleep activities and implement them weekly. Otherwise, it will get monotonous for you and you will lose interest.

Improve the sleep environment:

  • Simple changes in the ambiance of the room can give you a good night sleep. Just dim the light a bit or change the curtains and you will be able to get a nice sleep at night.Sleep in a comfy environment
  • If you want to improve the environment of the room, then it is best to keep the bed comfortable. The comfy bed will tempt you at night to go to sleep. Use minimal artificial lights and use natural light as much as possible.
  • Try to keep the noise levels down as well. If the noise levels are irritating you, then try to use ear mask or earplugs for the noise reduction.

In a nutshell, these tips and techniques will surely help you out in getting a good night sleep and cure insomnia. Once you follow these, you will be a morning riser. Try them one by one and then see the difference. Figure out what is the best technique for you, and you will be able to decipher some fantastic ways to a healthy lifestyle. Go ahead and grab on some peaceful sleep at night and wake up fresh in the morning.

Measurement Camp and Being Useful

Measurement Camp (an open source working group) held its meet up as part of an ongoing attempt to work out how to prove the value of social media.

The sessions aim to provide a place for people to discuss different ways of tracking campaigns, while attendees ‘compare tactics, think of ways to improve them and wonder if there will ever be a standard set of metrics against which to judge success by.’

With measurement top on the list for every communications professional, Reputation Online spoke to Ged Carroll of Ruder Finn about his main highlights from the discussions. “I was most interested in what Gile Palmer of Brandwatch had to say about the fact that engagement is primarily revolving around being useful.”

The clear methodology of how to do this – and then, more importantly, respond – was presented as follows; gather data, triage, sort, filter, read, diagnose, assign, respond and then measure (the last stage of this often being the most difficult to implement).

Building a social media campaignThe ‘response’ part was then presented as a series of questions, starting with an outline of business objectives, then expanding into working out who will respond, what the tone of voice be and if the respondent will know where the relevant content is online. Next, an assessment of what happens if a conversation develops, how to link online IDs to customers, how it’s all measured and then the million-dollar question – how to work out ROI?

This very systematic and practical approach to dealing with measurement is reflected in the blend of people attending Measurement Camp meetings. After sitting on a panel at a ‘Measuring Social Media’ event, Will McInnes (co-founder of social media and web design agency Nixon McInnes) decided that as none of the people in the room had definitive answers, that the community should start meeting up to tackle the issue together. In the beginning, sessions were attended by industry pioneers and big thinkers, but they now attract a younger, more pragmatic crowd.

“Measurement Camp has evolved and is now attended by those actively working on live projects. It’s real people, doing real stuff, for real clients,” McInnes said. “One of the challenges of measuring social media is the fact that there are no boundaries. If you work for a brand, and you’ve already been talked about in a different territory, is don’t matter because your boss is only interested in your own. How do we create buzz, when there’s already a website and community out there?”

Caroll added to this by saying that he is seeing; “interesting developments in measurement and monitoring as free and paid for tools improve, taking the measurement load off social media teams and allow them to be more focused on creativity.”

Technology developments have indeed made a vast difference in making social media and online activity more tangible, but tracking behavioral change is still difficult, as McInnes points out. “It’s all very well creating noise or chatter, but does this help to change things in the real world? People may talk about whether they walk to work or drive, but does seeing other people talk in the same way really change the way that people travel?”

Some may say that yes, a recommendation from a peer always resonates, but how do you measure it? Though the group has no set goals or targets, it aims to provide a source of education and support for those trying to answer the same question – can we prove that what we’re doing is working?

Weighing the Pros and Cons Before Filing Bankruptcy

For those in the middle of a financial crisis, there is at least one other credit solution available apart from bankruptcy. There are generally no rules for people to follow to decide on which options are best for their specific financial situation. Such a decision is personal and one that should be made based on some factors.

Eligibility for Bankruptcy

Towards the beginning of this legal process, the courts review all of the income, debts, and assets of the applicant. Judges have the authority to dismiss the case of individuals believed to have the capacity to pay their debts in some way and are, therefore, ineligible for bankruptcy. That often happens with employed individuals who file due to the accumulation of personal or credit card debts.

pros and cons of bankruptcyThe entire process involved can also be costly. The cost is among the most obvious reasons why applicants should be sure that they are eligible before actually filing for bankruptcy. If a judge dismisses their case, they would have spent hundreds of dollars on something that will not help them with their financial situation. This is also among the most common reasons why consumer credit counselors often tell their clients that this process should be done only after every other possible credit solution has been considered. Such counselors may even recommend that their clients sell their assets before considering filing for this process.

Credit Implications of Filing for Bankruptcy

The implications of filing for bankruptcy will last for ten years, and maybe even longer. It is stated on credit reports and will most likely still come up when applying for credit or other financial accommodations years later. Furthermore, the public has access to such records and so anyone can find out about a filing.

Since a case of bankruptcy makes its way to public records and credit reports, it affects the individual’s ability to gain insurance, credit, and possibly even employment in the future. That is the reason why when individuals are thinking of filing for this process, they should first make sure that all of their other options and the repercussions of filing before finalizing their decision.

Another repercussion of filing for this legal process is that debtors will most likely be stripped of their personal assets. Things that have been purchased with a loan might have to be surrendered to the trustee in order to begin paying off their debt. Cars, furniture, and other items will have to be handed over to the trustee as well. Furthermore, student loans and child support will not be considered in a bankruptcy case, so debtors will still have to pay such obligations off no matter what the judge’s decision is.

Finding an Alternative Credit Solution

Debtors who have stable jobs that pay sufficiently can consider some other credit solution before bankruptcy. Among the best options to consider is debt negotiation wherein debtors propose new, more manageable repayment plans to their creditors. Individuals may want to pursue this on their own or may choose to engage the services of a consumer credit counselor to assist with the negotiation process.

Credit counseling may also provide tons of benefits, especially to debtors who are not very familiar with ways to manage their personal finances. Generally, such counselors provide their clients with recommendations on monthly budgets based on their income in order to eliminate the debt that they have accumulated without having to go through the process of renegotiation. They will also be able to provide expert advice on which assets their clients should consider liquidating to eliminate debt.

Apart from formal credit solutions, debtors may consider making some lifestyle changes in order to free up some money to pay off the debts that they have accumulated. If they have the time available in their schedule, they may even consider temporarily taking on a supplementary job until such time that they eliminate their debt.

Filing for bankruptcy is a very personal decision and one that should not be taken lightly. Those who are thinking of doing so should understand not only the implications but also alternative credit solutions before they decide to file.

Never Let Finances Ruin Your Business Relationship

Deciding on partnering with a relative or friend on a business venture means building the brand from the ground up. That entails sharing dreams and responsibilities, including managing your finances and working towards your financial goals. It is crucial that before jumping into this new status in life, business partners need to write down their plans on how they will go about managing their shared responsibilities.

Dissolution of ventures stem from financial disagreementsAn Atlanta-based accountant advises business partners to “think with your brain and not only with your heart.” The adage “Prevention is better than cure” aptly describes such advise. He adds, “Take your time and don’t rush in making your decisions. Consider the worst-case scenario and what could go wrong. Feeling in love is so powerful that it makes you overlook important things when decision-making.”

Regardless of your financial status, managing finances ranks high among the reasons business partners break up. It is therefore essential to be clear about how you, as partners or associates, will manage your budget including your goals to minimize the devastation and tragic consequence that money matters may bring.

The sooner you realize the importance of such decisions regarding how you will manage your finances, the better it is for both of you. It is echoed by one Chicago-based accountant when she says, “Your relationships will be so much better and so is your romantic life at home.”

Every business partnership has to figure out for itself what will work out as the situations from partner to partner may vary. There are no hard rules but as you go about building your brand together, here are some helpful ideas:

1. Disclose your finances

Be open to talking to each other about financial matters, your income, savings, assets as well as your debt, your dues and obligations, and anything else that has to do with finance. However, you may choose not to tell all including any inheritance you may have received, or you might expect in the future. An accountant from Texas reminds business partners about specific reasons why it is not wise to divulge everything about money especially when you are just starting the brand with your partner. Once you have established trust, then you can start talking about this sensitive stuff.

“The more open and transparent you are with your business partner, the better chance that your relationship will have a smooth sail and headed for the long term,” says the senior vice president of a popular hedge fund company.

2. Share Your Space

Talk about the terms of lease or ownership of your home or any real estate property that you may want to put the business in if needed. Having your office in an owned property will save you and your partner tons of money. Discuss the amortization amount and schedule of payments and how each of you will split the expenses. Be fair in considering you and your business partner’s income and financial ability.

“As both your income and business relationship grow, regularly assess how much you are paying for things. Write down your names, and what you are paying for, so you know how much each of you contributes,” a hedge funder says.

Be transparent and fair as both of you talk about what you own or get and what your obligations are should your relationship end in the future. Of course, it is something that every business owner dreads to foresee.

3. Split the Bills

It pays to agree on splitting your expenses as business partners. It includes your rent, food, utilities, human resource payments, and all other items including coverage for unexpected events. Doing so will spare your business relationship the hassle of determining who should shoulder which expense when the problem arises.

Open a joint business account where both of you can make deposits for such expenses so it will be convenient where to get the funds later. Set time for assessing your financial situation at least four times a month so you can track your progress towards your shared goals.

Transparency in terms of debt will solidify partnership4. Keep debt separate

“Don’t commingle your debt,” advises a New York-based accountant. It is best to maintain your credit identity and history separate from your business partner. Your personal debt should not burden your partner or the other way around. Keep in mind that business debt is distinct from your personal debt, as determined by tempCFO’s outsourced services. If one of you is debt-free while the other is not, it will cause trouble later when you have joint ventures or shared responsibilities. “It will spell a lot of troubles in the future if you have joint goals or shared household expenses,” adds this accountant.

5. Put it in writing

Record everything in written form. Have a lawyer facilitate the agreement for the both of you. Such agreement lets you define the rules about how you’ll pool money to pay for your shared expenses including leases, recurring bills, and how you will divide ownership of assets.

“Nothing beats the security provided by some insurance should anything unfortunate happens. Your business relationship may end, but at least you have some of form of assurance,” says one Texas-based accountant.

Internet’s Influence and How It Change Our Lives

Remember years ago when the internet was in its infancy and every second article you read about it in the mainstream media had to do with dark and dangerous scenarios such as exploitation of minors or identification theft?

As someone who immediately embraced this new medium, I was continually defending it’s potential for enhancing our lives against those who rallied against this modern day Pandora’s Box of omnipresent evil.

Now I’m not naive enough to say that it’s a safe and foolproof medium, but what is in this world? Even fine institutions like churches or schools are not immune from scandalous incidents involving adults and minors, so essentially all we can really do is try to ensure the safest environment possible.

Information becomes much more available with InternetAnd a lot of progress has been made through the years. I had an incident back in the 90s where my then 11-year-old son was showing me a great guitar tab site he had discovered, and I was blown away by the sheer volume of info available. As a huge fan of the band AC/DC, I clicked on their link and WHAM! I had a very graphic and explicit pop-up that was a fine example of the crap that can exist in the confines of the net. I was just as offended by the stupidity and pointlessness of the whole thing, cause who needs help finding porn on the net? Hello! Luckily junior had left the room, or that father/son talk would have been very interesting indeed. With today’s’ software and browsers, pop-ups have gone the way of the dinosaurs for the most part.

So it’s fair to say that the internet is changing and evolving to become a much better communicative and info sharing appliance. As a writer, I find Google and Wikipedia indispensable tools which can allow me to sound like I know what I’m talking about some of the time. But here again, discretion is the key for as I’ve told my teens many times, just because it’s on the net, doesn’t mean it’s always true.

And how about peer to peer file sharing (Napster, Limewire) and how it’s influenced the way music is dispensed to the masses. A few years back, many experts were predicting the end of the industry as we know it. But the net has helped bands as it can be used for marketing, fan interaction, and even distribution of various products including their music, videos, or promotional stuff like T-shirts. For the music buying public, we have more choices available as to how we want our tunes, and with a greater selection.

Building a User-Friendly Website

Building a user-friendly website is relatively easy as long as you always remember that the site is there for the user, not you, and consider what they want to see rather than what you want to show off.

The first part of building your site should involve planning your content. Why does your website exist, what is its purpose? What information and services will it provide? When this is clear to you, you should decide who your target audience is. Is it a site for everyone or specialists in a particular field? Is it for young or old people? Is it for people who live in one specific area? Is it for people who are computer savvy or not? All of these factors and much more will affect how you can best build your website. But remember, your target audience will not be the only people who visit your website. It must be usable by everyone else as well.

Identifying your target marketKnow Your Target

You need to plan your content in a way that is suitable for both your target audience and the rest of the world. If you are presenting technical information to tech-savvy users, you will need to write technical content that probably won’t make sense to a non-tech user. To help the non-tech user, you could add explanations of the main ideas of your content as well as a glossary to help them make sense of the technical terms. If your site is for teenagers, you should present your content in a way that is familiar to them, but you could add a section to explain to parents what your site does and what you are doing to keep their children safe. If your site is only useful to people who live in a particular city, say so, so that people from other places don’t waste time there. Use your better judgment to make sure that everyone who visits your site will find it useful.

Once you have decided what content needs to be on your site, you should start to think about how it needs to be divided up, to form the structure of your site. Will there be just a few pages or a big collection? Can you split your content into logical sections? There are no rules here; you have to decide how best to display your content based on the content itself and who is going to be looking at it. Try to create a structure that will make sense to everybody if possible.

When your content is structured and divided into sensible pages or sections, the structure of your main navigation should become evident to you. You need to link to your homepage, contact page and all other significant pages or sections from every page on your website. The navigation menu must be consistent across all pages of your website. If your site content is divided into sections, each section will probably require its sub menu. Try to design your navigation so that users can get to other pages as quickly as possible without giving them too many choices in each menu. Choose your words carefully for the navigation links, make it clear to your users where each link will take them.

Your home page should clearly show the user what your site is about, how it will help them, and where they can go to find what they need. Your homepage is not a good place to explain your company policies, show off your new logo or cram as much information as possible. It should have just enough information to tell the user what’s in it for them. The same applies to the main pages of subsections of your site if you have them. Keep it simple, and show the user how to get to what they want to know about.

So far, I haven’t mentioned anything about layout, design, browsers, or coding. That is because your users (unless they are designers and coders and your site is about designing or coding) don’t think about those things at all. They only think about themselves, and what they can get out of visiting your website. The information or services you provide them are all they are interested in. When you are planning your site, this is all you need to be involved in as well.

User Interface

Once you have worked out what content needs to go on what page, how the pages will link to each other, the main structure and content of your website, you can begin to think about how to lay this information out on the screen. Users want to know what the page is about, how it will benefit them, how they got there, and where they can go next. All of this information should be as close to the top of the page as possible. This will help them to decide whether to read the rest of the page or go somewhere else. They don’t want to see your logo, your motto or a picture of your cat. Of course, it is probably important to you that they see your logo and your moto. If you want to show them a picture of your cat, you might want to go back to the beginning and ask yourself why you are building a website, to begin with.

So, the top part of your page should contain your navigation, the page title, possibly a brief introduction to the content on the page. You should make sure that these are prominent and that your visitor doesn’t have to search the page to see them. You can use the remaining space to put your logo and whatever else you think should be there. Remember that some users will have small screens. Test your page in a small window and make sure that the information your visitors want is still visible without having to scroll.

User experience should be first priorityEasy on the Eyes

Design the rest of your page around what is already in place. Make sure the colors you use are easy on the eye and have sufficient contrast for people with black and white monitors (yes they do still exist, and if your user has one they should still be able to use your website), colorblind users, and people with poor eyesight. Nobody wants to see lime green text on luminous orange, even if you think it looks cool. Don’t use flashing, blinking or scrolling content because this is annoying and it can make it hard to read. Stick to conventional layouts that users expect to see, don’t confuse them by trying something too different. If you have to explain how your site works then, it’s too complicated, and you need to start again.

When designing the appearance of your website, be aware that it will look different on different computers and screen sizes. Try to make something that looks good for everyone. It doesn’t have to look identical on every different computer, but it should look nice, clear and easy to use for everyone. Steer clear of large images that take a long time to load or patterns behind the text that make it hard to read. Don’t use an image if the simple text will do the job.

When you have designed your content and the look and feel of your website, you will be ready to begin writing the code. If you don’t know how to do this, it is far better to pass the project on to someone who does. There are several ways to build a website without having to write your code, but they all have limitations and can leave you with poor code which could cause problems for your users when they attempt to visit your site. If you are going to write the code yourself, there are a lot of websites out there that can help you get it right. If you’re not sure about something, look it up.

Your website code should be written well and should meet specific standards. Firstly, you should write valid markup (HTML or XHTML) to define the structure of each page. If you need to use a scripting language to generate dynamic content, you still need to make sure that the markup it outputs is correct. You should not try to use markup to control how your content looks on the page. It should merely define what parts of your content do what job within the document. Your markup should be well-formed, semantically correct and valid.

When your markup is finished, you should build a stylesheet in CSS to tell the browser how your content should be displayed to the user. This is where you begin to create the look and feel of your website. Your stylesheet should also be valid and well-formed. Again, if you don’t know what you are doing, get someone to do it for you, or get help online. Try the sites I mentioned above.

While you are writing the code for your website, you should take into account the fact that not all of your visitors will be using the same operating system and browser to access your website. You should test your website in different browsers and make sure that it displays well. You should also try it out on different screen sizes and at different screen resolutions. Bear in mind that some people who visit your site may not be using a modern browser. They could be using an old version of a browser, a text-only browser, a screen reader, a mobile device, an internet TV, and so on. There are several things that you can and should do to make your website more usable for these visitors as well as those using modern browsers.

This part of creating a user-friendly website is known as accessibility. Several rules and guidelines should be followed to make your site accessible. If you don’t know what you’re doing, get help. If you take these rules into account while you are building your website, it is easy to create an accessible, usable site. If you put together poor code and then try to fix it, it can be difficult and stressful.

Once your website is built and ready to go, don’t assume that you’ve finished. Ask your visitors how they easy they find it to use your site. If there’s something that they find confusing, change it for them. If there’s something they can’t find, move it or add more links to it. If something is missing that they expect to see, add it for them. If they have trouble with anything, your site needs to change to make it easier for them. It may not end up how you wanted it to be, but your site exists for your visitors not for you, and you always need to remember that.

Before, texts were sufficient to advertise your brand. These days, though, compelling videos and photos are essential to make people take notice of your company. The new generation relies on visuals more than texts, but there is also an increasing trend of previous generations opting to watch than to read.

Another lesson we’ve learned in 2017 is the importance of social media influencers. It was observed that influencers play a more crucial role since they are real people whom social media users get to interact with on a daily basis. Other platforms will also be tested including Instagram and Snapchat stories. So, if you are looking into leveraging your brand, you want to consider partnering up with a social media influencer who fits the principles of your brand.

Live streaming breaks the barriers of time and convenience2. The rise of live streaming for marketing

This year, we’ve seen high-quality videos and photos being published for Manhattan & New York SEO marketing purposes. This 2018, we expect to see the rise of live streaming to further market the brand. The reason for this is that most people now want to look at what’s behind the curtains, or what goes behind the scenes. It is an excellent way to better engage with your audience since they get to get a glimpse of how you operate as a company. It is going to be staged for sure, but the key is to make it as close to reality as possible.

Trend watching is crucial if you want to market your brand online. You can follow other companies and try to figure out their strategies so you can see their strong and weak points. It is good to expose yourself to as many examples as possible so you can better understand the direction you are taking. And remember, what used to work for 2017 may not work for 2018. So plan your social media marketing strategies well ahead of time.
